Life is sometimes like a box of chocolates, because you never know what you're going to get. I wrote this book because I know from experience that God can do anything; and because my intimacy levels have increased with God more and more, it is the most wonderful relationship I have ever experienced. I want others to experience this kind of intimacy because you never know love until you fall in love with God. Knowing God loves you, and that whatever happens in life He's with you, is vital. It causes levels of intimacy that you can only imagine until it happens. I am overwhelmed with joy and peace amid my trials because I know God is able to do anything.

"Robert E. Stillman's book is an effort to restore the neglected history of those new philosophies of seventeenth-century England that sought to align themselves not with radical ideologies, but with the conservative interests of centralizing state power. Against the background of England's universal language movement, his study traces the development of three distinguishable philosophical projects, organized upon three distinguishable theories of language. In all three, a more perfect language comprises both a model and a means for achieving a more perfect philosophy, and that philosophy, in turn, a vehicle for promoting political authority in the state. Those three projects are the new philosophies of Lord Chancellor Bacon, Thomas Hobbes, and Bishop John Wilkins, all of which can be usefully understood in the broader context of the century's cultural politics and in the more specific circumstances of the century's fascination with the construction of a universal language. Bacon, Hobbes, and Wilkins construct philosophies out of deeply held convictions about the need to provide a saving form of knowledge to remedy cultural crises. That saving form of knowledge, as it develops in the lines of linguistic thought that extend from Bacon's Instauration to Wilkins's Philosophical Language, is both a product of and one potent agent in producing the emerging, scientistically designed, modern state."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. I was six cycles old when I was taken. The soldiers came with ugly gaping mouths that screamed and yelled and drooled. They raped and murdered my father, my mother, my older brother and my sister. I was taken and given as a gift to the Crown Prince of Zetaria a monstrous, twisted man of strange tastes and some persuasions. But for the King’s Vizier, Anubis I would have been destined for a life of misery and depravity until the Prince tired of me. Anubis seized me from the Crown Prince’s clutches before the man could so much as breathe on me, claiming me as tribute for an enchantment worked in battle. The old mage raised me as the son he would never have. On that day my life changed forever.
