Dogs on Jumpers pairs simplicity and flexibility with knitwear patterns for men, women, children and babies. There are eighteen featured dog breeds, each with a graph for adult jumpers, alongside 8 additional graphs tailored to child and baby jumpers. Featured breeds include Labrador, Lurcher, Beagle, Dalmatian, Pug, French Bulldog, Golden Retriever, Chihuahua, Springer Spaniel, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Labradoodle, Jack Russell, Miniature Schnauzer, Whippet, Border Terrier, Border Collie, West Highland Terrier and Dachshund. There are three adult jumper shapes and three child/baby shapes, each with their own master pattern: Woman’s neat and boxy Raglan jumper; Woman’s long and loose jumper; Man’s relaxed jumper; Child’s dropped shoulder jumper; Baby’s Raglan jumper (suitable for 3 years and under); and an easy Baby cardigan (suitable for 6 months and under). Once you’ve selected the shape of your jumper, simply choose your dog motif and get knitting! You can even adapt the designs to knit your own dog onto a jumper! Play around with colours and markings, with the position of the dog on the jumper and with the shape of the background – square, oval or stripe. Among the graphs at the back of the book you’ll also find an alphabet graph, so you can either make up your own dog-related phrases, or add your dog’s name or initials. With clear patterns for jumpers, accessories (including a hat and scarf), a baby blanket, a dalmatian onesie and even a dog coat, alongside advice on techniques and yarn choice, plus irresistible lifestyle photography from founder of Phodography, Ursula Aitchison, this is the perfect book for knitters and dog lovers alike.

Following the success of A Dog a Day (Pavilion, 2017), Sally Muir returns with a sea of new, but crucially old, faces. Several years ago Sally Muir began a Facebook project, 'A Dog a Day', posting dog art daily. Through the project she was introduced to endless people and their dogs, and the distinct personalities and complex emotions that owners attribute to them. More recently, Sally's project changed focus and she asked the public to send in photographs of their old dogs. Featuring grey muzzles, milky eyes and wobbly legs, as well as tender anecdotes picked up from a whole lifetime of companionship, Sally Muir’s paintings of our more senior canines are collected here for the first time. Sally Muir is well known for her portrayal of dogs, with Elderly Dog featuring in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2018 and Hound following up in the Summer Exhibition in 2019. The popularity of Elderly Dog has fuelled Sally's desire to continue to paint older dogs, and celebrate the ageing process of our favourite pets in grace and style. From loose sketches and lithographs to potato prints and oil paintings, Old Dogs includes a range of mediums that Sally has become known for, and embraces dogs of all shapes and sizes: big, small, pedigree and cross breed.

A Dog A Day began life with a Facebook post in 2013: 'My name is Sally Muir and this is a new gallery where I will add a dog drawing/painting every day, adding up to a massive 365 day dogfest.' As the Facebook page grew in popularity, so did Sally's dog portraits, leading to commissions, exhibitions at prominent galleries, and dog sketching events at venues including Anthropologie – who went on to commission an incredibly successful collection of dog-a-day crockery and textile-based household accessories. Drawing on artworks from the site, A Dog A Day is a lovingly curated collection and celebration of dogs. Containing 365 beautiful artworks of dogs of all shapes and sizes (big, small, pedigree, cross breed), the book includes a range of exciting mediums from loosely worked sketches, lithographs and potato prints to finished oil paintings. Delightfully packaged, this is the perfect gift for all dog lovers.

Finding a pattern . . . And as the needles clack, and the garments grow, the conversation moves on from patterns and yarn to life, love and everything. These women are of different ages, from different backgrounds and facing different problems, but they are drawn together by threads of affection that prove as durable as the sweaters they knit. The Friday Night Knitting Club - don't you want to join?

Be bold and creative and make these patterns your own! Comments From Other Readers“I've made two of the throws from this book and they both turned out great. The instructions were plenty clear enough for me, a barely intermediate knitter. I was able to complete both garments with no help except to look up a couple things in a basic knitting reference book. The instructions at the beginning were a huge help though. Any one of these sweaters or other projects, like the pillows, would make great gifts for the pet owners you know.” - Lois (New Brunswick, Canada) “I was a bit hesitant to buy this as I have a cat. Have you ever tried to put a sweater on a cat? Long story short, with mine it doesn't end well and the cat never wore the sweater. I love that this book has more than just clothing options. She was fearless hunter with the duck and has eagerly (for a cat) claimed the snuggly blanket as her new throne to rule the house from. I was happy to find that the patterns were easy to put together and the instructions were straight forward.” - Kelli (Ohio, US) Tags: pets, crafts, pet crafts, knitting, crocheting, dog, cat, toys, knit blanket, knit toys, gifts, crochet, crochet 101, beginners, easy patterns, novice crochet, crocheting, one day crochet, learn to crochet, crochet patterns, afghan projects, crochet stitch gallery, easy to crochet, knitting, crochet for beginners, cross-stitching, needlework, one day crochet afghan, crochet scarf, craft, crocheting for dummies, crochet craft, crochet book

Garrison Keillor once said that "cats show us that not everything in nature has a purpose." The Way of the Cat, however, shows how cats may be in our lives to help us follow our bliss. Iggy, Isabel, and Inky are three cats that have shown author Dana Kramer-Rolls how to get in touch with her inner cat--and discover the secrets of a blissful life, which include:* Stretching all over is one of life's pure and simple pleasures.* Doing nothing well is a feline art form anyone can practice.* We can all just get along when we live together well. Kramer-Rolls's philosophy is simple: By "being as simple and direct as our cats, we can achieve a 'higher' or at least more natural and less-stressed state. Get involved with your cats. Their wisdom is now open to you, and you can learn everything they have to teach." The funny and surprising Way of the Cat guides readers through the days and lives of Kramer-Rolls's cats and teaches them the ways of feline wisdom:* Learn to move silently and sleep deeply, as long as necessary.* Exercise by doing the "crescent moon stretch" and indulge in the fun of rolling around on the floor.* Practice feline empathy--and find out how to heal the world.* Celebrate bliss. The Way of the Cat is packed with fun tips, exercises, cat stories, and food for thought--all drawn from the blissful lives cats lead every day.
