Whether you're a professional investor or just want to trade like one, Buy High, Sell Higher will show you how to pick winners, maximize gains and minimize losses...In this book, you'll learn how a stock's price is just the beginning of the story, and that other indicators like moving averages and volume can help you to spot stocks that have momentum. You'll also learn how to determine the optimal moment to buy a stock, when to sell it, how to protect yourself against sudden reversals in the market, and how to capitalize on moments when other investors are retreating. What's the best month to buy tech stocks? To sell an energy asset? And what is the one-day of the year that you should never, ever trade on? Answers to these and other questions are just some of the insights that Joe Terranova shares in Buy High, Sell Higher. Terranova is a series regular on CNBC's Fast Money and the Chief Market Strategist for Virtus Investment Partners, a firm with over $25 billion in assets under management. Prior to joining Virtus, he spent 18 years at MBF Clearing Corp., where he was the director of trading and managed more than 300 traders. And as viewers of CNBC's Fast Money know, Joe is a master at demystifying the forces that drive today's markets. So why not let him show you how to use telltale signs to spot investments that are poised for lift-off.

My close friend has similar income as I. When we retired (I retired at least 10 years earlier), I had about four times his total equity. The main reason is I followed the time-honored "Buy Low, Sell High" strategy and supplemented with this "Buy high, Sell Higher." Before 2000, market timing is a waste of time. Since then, it is critical to your financial health. The average loss of the last two market crash is about 45%. My simple technique described in this book does not require any charting or any subscription/tool. It does not detect the peaks and bottoms but it would have saved you a lot of money in exiting and reentering the market. Most likely it will detect the next crash. As in life, nothing is guaranteed. The book shows you to find growth and evaluate stocks in term of the short-term appreciation potential. Growth stocks change fundamentals every quarter (3 months). Ensure you have stop loss order to protect your profit. I prefer to adjust the stop orders when the stocks appreciate. Do not marry with a stock. When the fundamentals change or your objective has been fulfilled, you need to sell it. Size: 85 (6*9)

New from the national bestselling author of The Money Book. Following the runaway success of The Money Book, financial advisor Kevin Cork is back with another must-read. The Investment Book is an informative and irreverent look at the world of stocks, mutual funds and investing. Like The Money Book, The Investment Book is geared toward investors under the age of 35--men and women just starting their careers, families and investment portfolios. In-depth knowledge of foreign markets, RRSP options and eco-funds is not required. Nor is $40,000 of disposable income. In his trademark witty style, Cork walks the reader through the process of setting up and then maintaining an investment portfolio. Beginning with an overview of various investment programs (RRSPs, Defined Contribution Pension Plan, and Registered Education Savings Plans), Cork goes on to explain stocks, down-to-earth strategies for combining various investment options into a personalized portfolio that will directly serve the reader's diverse (and possibly frivolous!) needs and goals. For readers using advisors to put their portfolios together, The Investment Book provides the information needed to ask the right questions and reasonably judge the answers. For those just beginning their financial journey, or for more experienced investors looking for a fresh approach, The Investment Book is bound to offer a good return.
