Following in the footsteps of the two earlier teaching series of the 1950s and 1970s, these volumes seek to reveal the distinctive vision Anglicanism offers for the people of God today. Each book includes a study guide and a list of additional resources. The series is designed for wide parish use, including adult education, classes for inquirers and newcomers, the adult catechumenate, parish libraries, and study groups throughout the church year.In this down-to-earth book on the essentials of prayer, Guenther answers many of the most common questions about prayer and the spiritual life. She also discusses basic matters of Christian practice, such as making a confession, going on retreat, using a journal to pray, finding a spiritual director, and praying when God does not seem to listen.

The Masked Church

Much of today’s Church is masked, in fear that something is “out there lurking,” while oblivious of their identity and delegated authority, and blatant denial or prideful dismissal of hypocritically masked carnal appetites Holy Spirit seeks permission to help crucify. As we yield daily in true repentance, masks are lifted to reveal eye-opening Truth. Through constant communion in Abiding Presence we relinquish the right to prodigally do as we please, and grant Him permission to help crucify appetites that’ve stamped a visible watermark. Otherwise, the realm of darkness appeals to appetites and inclinations, entices “WHEN moments,” and tempts us to trespass the line of demarcation into sin. As we welcome Presence to rest upon, to stir Presence within, carnal appetites lose their appeal as Christ is progressively formed in us and we embrace Jesus’ co-missioned compelling Christ Mandate to present a Kingdom response to all matters, and carry, discern, release and convey Presence in our homes, workplace and marketplace. Jesus was only “tested” in all matters as we, in thought, yet the Masked Church has traditionally considered everything temptation based on our inclination to sin. Jesus had no such inclination because of kratos strength He’d developed to initially resist temptation with the Word, then totally avoid temptation with an Empowered Immunity upon presentation as Christ. Where there’s no appetite and subsequently no inclination, there’s no temptation, only tests! Through watching and praying in Abiding Presence, kratos progressively develops Jesus’ Resurrection Immunity to carnal appetites and temptation. Come join the lifelong journey to live in constant communion with Holy Spirit and put your soul and flesh in subjection to your spirit. Just as Jesus didn’t select a single disciple from among the religiously masked of His day, neither will He return for a hypocritically Masked Church in the Rapture.

Sunday Times bestseller Prayer for the Dead is the fifth novel in the bestselling Inspector McLean series by author James Oswald. 'The hallmarks of Val McDermid or Ian Rankin: it's dark, violent, noirish' The Herald *** 'Are you ready to be reborn?' The search for a missing journalist is called off as a body is found at the scene of a carefully staged murder. In a sealed chamber, deep in the heart of Gilmerton Cove, a mysterious network of caves and passages sprawling beneath Edinburgh, the victim has undergone a macabre ritual of purification. Inspector Tony McLean knew the dead man, and can't shake off the suspicion that there is far more to this case than meets the eye. The baffling lack of forensics at the crime scene seems impossible. But it is not the only thing about this case that McLean will find beyond belief. Teamed with the most unlikely and unwelcome of allies, he must track down a killer driven by the darkest compulsions, who will answer only to a higher power . . . 'Are you ready for the mysteries to be revealed?' Praise for James Oswald: 'A star of Scotland's burgeoning crime fiction scene' Daily Record 'Crime fiction's next big thing' The Sunday Telegraph 'Literary sensation . . .James' overnight success has drawn comparisons with the meteoric rise of E L James and her Fifty Shades of Grey series' Daily Mail 'Fifty Shades of Hay' The Times 'Oswald is among the leaders in the new batch of excellent Scottish crime writers' Daily Mail 'The new Ian Rankin' Daily Record 'An excellent start to what promises to be a fine series' Guardian 'Classy, occasionally brutal, and with the odd suggestion of the supernatural, this will doubtless be another deserved hit. Oswald's writing is in a class above most in this genre' Daily Express

Things gets complicated as Prince Rufai defiles the kingdom’s royal funeral ground; when he invites his clergy friend to talk about a ‘strange God’ at the funeral ceremony of his late mother - the queen. Balak, King Makimba’s twin, takes advantage of the situation, connives with the chief priest to eliminate his brother; in order to satisfy his age long desire to sit on the throne of Sakhi. Meanwhile, Prince Rufai leaves for Ghana in search of Maryann’s child - the Unknown King, that must be found in order to bring an end to all the calamities plaguing his people. Prince Rufai finds Maryann’s mother in Kenya. Three months later, he returns to Sakhi with Maryann’s second son, Eric; together with the Precepts for the Governance of the Sakhi Kingdom - a book authored by the Unknown King.
