Mindfulness for Kids with ADHD offers fun and accessible mindfulness exercises designed to help kids with ADHD successfully navigate all the areas of life—from making friends and doing well in school to establishing healthy habits and limiting screen time. As a parent, you know that attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can make the normal developmental tasks of childhood more difficult to accomplish in numerous ways. These tasks include: making friends, doing well in school, organizing belongings and schoolwork, identifying and managing feelings, developing a positive self image, getting along with family members, following rules, doing chores, establishing a healthy sleep pattern, eating a healthy diet, and making good choices about exercise and use of screen time. The activities in this easy-to-use workbook will help your child develop self-awareness and self-reflection—two skills that kids with ADHD typically need extra help with. The book also illustrates and teaches the process of setting intention and using specific mindfulness skills to identify and improve feelings, self-image, behavior, stress level, concentration, hyperactivity, and relationships. If you’re a parent of a child with ADHD, you may feel conflicted about the best treatment options available. Whether used alone or in conjunction with therapy, this powerful workbook provides real skills your child can use every day to improve their quality of life and help them enjoy being a kid!

Integrated care is receiving a lot of attention from clinicians, administrators, policy makers, and researchers. Given the current healthcare crises in the United States, where costs, quality, and access to care are of particular concern, many are looking for new and better ways of delivering behavioral health services. Integrating behavioral health into primary care medical settings has been shown to: (1) produce healthier patients; (2) produce medical savings; (3) produce higher patient satisfaction; (4) leverage the primary care physician’s time so that they can be more productive; and (5) increase physician satisfaction. For these reasons this is an emerging paradigm with a lot of interest and momentum. For example, the President’s New Freedom Commission on Mental Health has recently endorsed redesigning the mental health system so that much of this is integrated into primary care medicine.

Beyond ADHD weaves Emmerson’s personal story of his ADHD diagnosis, exploring along the way the latest medical, scientific and societal explanations and tools for managing and living with the condition. Including interviews with a number of experts at the forefront of next-generation ADHD diagnostics and treatment, he questions the cookie-cutter way ADHD is commonly diagnosed and treated. Suggesting that the list of symptoms often used to identify ADHD can be attributed to many other disorders and conditions, he explores how and why ADHD diagnoses have increased by 50% in the last ten years. Emmerson advocates a different approach to ADHD, arguing that it should be a diagnosis of exclusion rather than the other way around, and that we must look past the label, recognizing that individual symptoms vary and treatment plans should be better tailored to the individual. He examines mental and behavioral issues from all sides, including the possibility that nurturing – rather than trying to alter or suppress – the active, “360-degree” mind is a viable way for those diagnosed with ADHD to realize their gifts and lead purposeful lives.

Your child can overcome big emotions Anxiety, depression, stress, anger, and trauma are all thought to be adult related concerns. No one talks about how these big emotions, feelings, and events can have just as significant of an impact on children. Children are looked at as safe from these hard to overcome emotions. But, with constant exposure to news reports, violent games, social media, and crime in their own neighborhood, it is likely that your child may be struggling with these emotions without you even knowing it. Children often act out when they feel out of control. When they are trying to make sense of what they are feeling, these behaviors intensify. Unfortunately, these behaviors are often chalked up to typical tantrums, the child only trying to get what they want, or the child seeking attention. The cause of the behavior is never really questioned. While it is typical for children to throw tantrums and fits every now and then, when these become more frequent and last longer than a few minutes, this is a clear red flag your child is struggling with some more. Children can suffer from depression, anxiety, and stress, among other intense mood disorders and emotions. Young children do not have the skillset to help them work through these problems on their own. It is no wonder why your child may be acting out if they are feeling confused and frightened by what they are thinking or feeling. As a parent, you want to help your child work through these big emotions and strengthen the skills your child needs to overcome these emotions in the future. That is where this book can help! In this workbook you will understand: What anxiety, anger, stress, trauma, and depression looks like in a child What skills your child may be lacking, which are adding to unwanted behaviors. How to properly open the lines of communication with your child to talk about what they are going through. What lifestyle change can best benefit you and your child. This book will also provide you with activities, games, and techniques that you and your child can do together to work through big emotions. Your child may have struggled in the past to communicate about what they are feeling and what is bothering them simply because they do not yet have an understanding of their feelings. Unwanted behaviors are never because your child wants to be bad. They are simply the only way they know how to cope and handle the big emotions they are experiencing. This book will help you recognize this behavior and how you can help your child make the necessary changes to help them overcome and properly express what they are struggling with. You and your child will gain a clear understanding of how to overcome big emotions, rewire negative thoughts, and maintain control in any situation from this book. If you have been trying to help your child with little to no positive results in the past, this book can provide you with the key tools that you may have been missing. If you are ready to see your child happy and thriving in any situation, then this is the book for you to get started with. SCROLL UP AND BUY IT NOW!!

Blake Taylor's mother first suspected he had ADHD when he, at only three years of age, tried to push his infant sister in her carrier off the kitchen table. As time went by, Blake developed a reputation for being hyperactive and impulsive. He launched rockets (accidentally) into neighbor's swimming pools and set off alarms in museums. Blake was diagnosed formally with ADHD when he was five years old. In ADHD and Me, he tells about the next twelve years as he learns to live with both the good and bad sides of life with ADHD. Blake's memoir offers, for the first time, a young person's account of what it's like to live and grow up with this common condition. Join Blake as he foils bullies, confronts unfair teachers, struggles with distraction and disorganization on exams, and goes sailing out-of-bounds and ends up with a boatload of spiders. It will be an inspiration and companion to the thousands of others like him who must find a way to thrive with a different perspective than many of us. The book features an introduction by psychologist Lara Honos-Webb, author of The Gift of ADHD, and a leading advocate for kids with ADHD.

Delight Directed Learning Guide for Christian Homeschooling More than 300 activity pages! Study 8 Subjects and put faith first! For Ages 7 to 17 - Includes Daily Bible Reading, Realistic Animal Art, Unit Studies, Science, Reading, Spelling, History, Current Events, Drawing & Logic! This beautiful learning experience provides your students dozens of wonderful learning experiences. Mom, you will only need to help your child for the first three days and then the student will be able to work dependently. This handbook is designed to accompany up to nine library books, and several educational movies and documentaries based on the student's interests and learning goals. For example your daughter may want to learn more about Victorian clothing, photo editing, baking cupcakes, babysitting, travel to Italy, nutrition, and pioneer life, now all you need to do is get a stack of books and movies about these topics. Maybe you have a son who is into World War 2, weapons, airplanes, fast cars, space, dinosaurs and tree houses. You would get books and movies about these topics for him. The purpose of this homeschooling plan is to give homeschooling moms a break while the children use this study guide. We know that moms have seasons in life where sickness, new babies, holidays, moves and transitions limit the homeschooling process. With this program your children will thrive and learn unforgettable lessons while you get the rest you need or focus on other things without feeling guilty that your children have been "unschooling" for too long. This handbook is as fun as unschooling but provides the structure and freedom children need. This curriculum was created by a mother of ten children who is also a Dyslexia, ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome specialist. This is the curriculum she designed for her own children who have special requirements for learning. For example the font used is perfect for Dyslexia so that the child can read without confusion about the letters. The program is also very good for students with Asperger's because it focuses on the child's special interests while integrating all the subjects that are needed for a well rounded education. Kids with ADHD love this method because it gets them out of their seat and requires art, activity, and time exploring nature! This program can be used for a wide age range because each student will choose age appropriate books to accompany this workbook. Every child in your family who is reading at a second grade level or higher can use this program, non-readers and dyslexics should complete Dyslexia Games Series A and B before starting this program. www.DyslexiaGames.com Typical mathematics is not included in this learning program, though the child will use and explore numbers in many practical ways every day.
